At Your Personal Jeweller, we believe that jewellery is more than just an accessory – it’s a personal expression of your unique story, style, and experiences. Each custom design is an opportunity to celebrate individuality, capture memories, and create heirlooms that last a lifetime.
We believe in crafting pieces that reflect who you are, using only the finest materials and skilled craftsmanship. From initial inspiration to the final creation, we’re committed to designing jewellery that is as unique and meaningful as the moments it represents.
Above all, we believe in empowering you to wear your story with pride. Let’s create something extraordinary together.
Start by gathering inspiration for your perfect piece. Whether you have a specific design in mind or a mix of ideas, bring along any sketches or examples to get started.
In our consultation, we’ll explore your vision, style preferences, and any special requests to understand exactly what you’re looking for in a custom piece.
We’ll craft a detailed design based on your ideas and provide a quote. You’ll have the chance to review and refine the design to ensure it meets your expectations. During this step, we’ll also discuss important details like the colour of the metal, the durability, and the fit of your jewellery—essential for pieces like engagement or wedding rings and earrings that you’ll wear daily.
Our experienced jewellery designer will ensure your ring not only looks stunning but also feels comfortable and stands up to everyday wear. Investing in thoughtful design now can save you the cost and inconvenience of remaking your ring later.
We also accept pre-loved gold and silver as part of the payment, adding a personal and sustainable touch to your piece. Once you’re happy with the design, we’ll proceed after receiving the deposit.
With your approval, our artisans begin the creation process, using precision techniques and high-quality materials. Delivery typically takes around 3 weeks but may vary depending on the complexity of the design and material availability.
Once completed, we’ll ensure a perfect fit before carefully packaging your jewellery for delivery, ready for you to enjoy.
We’d love to hear how you’re enjoying your custom piece! Share a photo and review with us—we might even feature it on our website or social media. Your unique creation deserves to be shown off!
We understand that choosing the perfect piece of jewellery is an important and personal decision. To help guide you through the process, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most common questions our clients ask.
Yes, absolutely! We specialise in upcycling pre-loved jewellery. We can value your precious metals, which can be used as part payment for creating something new. It’s usually best to reuse your precious and semi-precious stones, as their resale market isn’t always favourable. This way, we can craft a beautiful and meaningful piece just for you.
White, rose, and yellow gold are all made from gold but differ in colour due to the metals mixed with the gold. White gold has a silvery finish and is often combined with palladium or silver. At the same time, rose gold has a pinkish tone from copper, and yellow gold keeps its traditional warm hue with fewer additional metals.
As for the karats, they indicate the purity of the gold. 9 karat gold contains 37.5% pure gold, 14 is 58.5%, and 18 is 75% pure. Higher karat gold is more valuable but can be softer, making lower karat more durable for everyday wear.
Sterling silver is a classic alloy made from 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper, to add strength. Argentium is a modern type of sterling silver that replaces some copper with germanium, making it more resistant to tarnish and easier to maintain. While both are high-quality silvers, Argentium tends to stay shinier for longer and requires less polishing.
Our quotes have a validity period because the prices of precious metals and the Rand (ZAR) exchange rate change daily. The quote reflects these rates at the time of issue to ensure accuracy.
Once you’ve paid your deposit, we buy the materials right away to secure the price. While we do our best to stick to the quoted amount, market fluctuations can sometimes affect the final price.
We are committed to creating a piece that meets your needs and satisfaction, so we involve you throughout the design process. We work closely with you to ensure the final product reflects your vision. In the rare event that you’re not fully satisfied, we’ll gladly discuss making adjustments. However, depending on the changes required, additional costs may be involved. Please note that the design process is a collaborative journey, and the final result is based on the choices made along the way.
